We are moving from San Diego to the Oakland the first of May and are looking into the areas known as Rockridge, Elmwood, Lake Merritt, Temescal and Piedmont. I'm looking for a place that has craftsman style, hardwood floors, w/d on premises, parking and loads of windows with easy access to the BART, walking/biking distance to coffee shops and has neighborhood charm. Anyone out there know of any place available?

Roomates, or alone? House/Apartment? What are you looking for?
None of those areas have everything you are asking for. Some have some things, but not others. Areas such as Piedmont tend to have very few rentals. There are alot of places for sale, and prices are really good right now.
