&lt;br/&gt;Black Rock City, Nevada
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How can we recognize, articulate, and navigate the politics of art and freedom? What are the roles of our communities, cultures, and societies in enabling or restricting arts and freedoms?  What freedoms are needed to enable artistic expression? What limitations do we struggle against to achieve artistic freedom?  How can freedom be experienced as a form of art? Can art create freedom?   
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;THE ART OF FREEDOM is an Interdisciplinary Arts Conference that will take place on August 28, 2008 in Black Rock City, Nevada at Burning Man (www.burningman.com).  Scholars and creative thinkers from all levels of education and experience are invited to submit proposals for panel presentations.  Conference sessions will typically consist of panels of three 20-minute paper presentations, but we are also open to proposals with creative and unusual presentation formats (feel free to think outside the box!)  
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Possible presentation topics might include (but are not limited to):
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;* Inquiries related to Art, Freedom, and the “American Dream.”
&lt;br/&gt;* Considerations of Burning Man and its relation to culture, society, law, or politics.
&lt;br/&gt;* Discussions of specific Burning Man Art installations or projects.
&lt;br/&gt;* Presentations on censorship in relation to artistic freedom.
&lt;br/&gt;* Proposals for new directions in activism related to art and freedom.
&lt;br/&gt;* Explorations of the relationships between subcultural expression and “mainstream” cultures.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;These are just a few sample topics – we are open to considering any presentation that offers an engaged and/or creative approach to the conference theme.  
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The conference will be hosted by Freedomcommunity at Burning Man, and all participants should be familiar with the unique conditions of the Black Rock City environment.  Note that the minimum cost for attending Burning Man is over $200, so participants should already have plans to attend the festival or should be prepared to embrace the festival in its fullness.

      <description>&lt;div&gt;So I've realized that this town in the san joaquin valley I live in has been
&lt;br/&gt;the cause for some of the negative energy I have been
&lt;br/&gt;dealing with as of lately. 
&lt;br/&gt;I have been feeling the urge to just pack my bags and go for
&lt;br/&gt;a long time now, but the urge has now turned into a gut response.  
&lt;br/&gt;Does anyone know of any open houses or squatter pads or just friendly 
&lt;br/&gt;people willing to open their home to a central-valley refugee around berkeley?
&lt;br/&gt;I am a very down-to-earth, friendly, laughing, hard-working person, and I will
&lt;br/&gt;work and help out any way I possibly can.
&lt;br/&gt;I am a certified massage therapist and apprentice body piercer (Still need to learn a few things)
&lt;br/&gt;so I imagine finding work would not be that hard.........

      <title>Overseas seeking RV Rental for burn</title>

&lt;br/&gt;Last years burn was our first, my wifes and mine, and this year we're coming home again... 
&lt;br/&gt;This is the thing - we're coming over from Israel and trying to pre-arrange a few things from over here. Last year we were tenting, which was great, and this year we decided to get an RV and see how it is. Prices from rentals is way high now and I'd rather give some money to private people than a company. 
&lt;br/&gt;So anyone got an RV and not coming this year? We'd love to rent one from a fellow burner. The details are: 
&lt;br/&gt;Pick-up and Drop-off SF area, between 8/23-9/4 and our budget is around 2500$. 
&lt;br/&gt;Since we plan to be out on the playa as much as we can, a small reliable unit is all we need. We're both good experienced drivers, over 30, and I got a cousin living in SF (teaching at SFSU) that can vouch for us personally.

      <title>Does your Playa Project Need an Extra Hand?</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;I just got the bad news that my early arrival for this years temple crew
&lt;br/&gt;probably fell through...  Anyone out there have an big chunk of playa
&lt;br/&gt;art they need help with a week or two before gates open? I'm in Seattle
&lt;br/&gt;so a local project has some appeal, but really I just want to build
&lt;br/&gt;something amazing on the playa. I'm booked solid until the 10th or so of
&lt;br/&gt;August but after that I'm 100% free to do whatever needs to be done as
&lt;br/&gt;long as I'm dusty while I do it. I even have my own ticket already, so
&lt;br/&gt;if you're limited on comp. tickets but still need a spare hand I'm your
&lt;br/&gt;man.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Guess I should tell ya a bit about myself, and my general usefulness:
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This will be my 6th Burn, and hopefully my 3rd large art project. First
&lt;br/&gt;year my brain was so blown I just couldn't leave, so I stuck around for
&lt;br/&gt;a week and helped BlueHouse break down their GyroSphere...  Not to
&lt;br/&gt;technical, but hey I can load a semi 14 hours a day for a week :-) Last
&lt;br/&gt;year I was one the Black Rock Glacier- got in a week early, did a whole
&lt;br/&gt;lot of setup, metal work, painting, and a ton of hauling, but in the end
&lt;br/&gt;the project just wasn't meant to be... This year I really want to see
&lt;br/&gt;something raise up from nothing.  
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;When I'm not in Black Rock I'm a mechanical engineer/ massage therapist.
&lt;br/&gt;I can cut, paint, screw, nail, prep metal, make lemonaid, and weld just
&lt;br/&gt;a bit. So what do you think, do you have a project that could use me, or
&lt;br/&gt;know someone who does?

      <title>trade electric golf cart repair for costume design?</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;My husband and I are building a mutant vehicle out of an ancient electric golf cart. It doesn't run, but it will.  We're building a giant man-in- the-moon that will play lullabies and have stars and carry an assortment of children's books, etc. I live in Berkeley and would like to find someone who a.can repair it   b. teach me how to maintain it and troubleshoot  and let me watch while they fix it. In the true spirit of Burning Man, I'd love to work out some cool trade. I sew and have made everything from punkrock man kilts to steampunk corsets- they're costumes and don't last forever, but look kick ass. Or if someone wants money, we will hire them to work on it.  We are inspired- help us actualize this shit!

      <title>desperate for golf cart to realize moon</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;It's been eight years of puppet making, costume designing, performing, and this year, we dream to expand our experience of the playa by building a gigantic moon with shooting stars that also plays lullabies as it surfs across the playa. (We will have several children in our extended playa family.) Or we're thinking of building a giant snail. Can anyone suggest where to get a golf cart, preferably electric that can be converted to solar, that would cost under 500 bucks? We are of limited funds, but dreaming big. Surely someone out there has one that they aren't using this year or knows how to buy one cheap. I'm a teacher and have the summer to build this. But the deadline for mutant vehicles is June 30th. I believe.

&lt;br/&gt;FOR PROFESSIONAL/PERFORMING MUSICIANS:
&lt;br/&gt;Option one.....
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The most grand is to offer a personal show for the highest bidder, this would be a pro-bono event for you in support of the temple. Think a private swanky party.  Ideally this will be beneficial to you as a marketing tool for other high end parties, or maybe it will be a super fun intimate family style party, or wedding.  If you are interested in this option and have specific terms I am happy to write up the auction how you want.  Of course we can have stipulations....like it has to be in the Bay or LA area to eliminate your travel costs, specific windows of time as to not interfere with your booked shows or it has to be a not for profit event.  Thank you for considering this offering.

&lt;br/&gt;Or maybe this option may be more up your alley...... 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Do you have the desire to share your skills by teaching or mentoring someone? There are many aspiring musicians who look up to you and would flip for an opportunity to chat it up and get some pointers from you, even just have you listen to their music and get your feedback. This could be a really fun experience for you and them. Maybe lunch and a studio session with you, or an afternoon with you creating a track? On  your time and your terms, you just let me know and I will package it up and let the bidding begin. This could be a ton of fun and what a way to personally connect with your fans.

&lt;br/&gt;Or the simple way to support.....
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;How about some signed merchandise? I would love to create a" trunk of funk" music box with signed CD's, t-shirts, stickers, what ever bling you got. It would be excellent to offer your sounds in hard copy to your fans and a great way for them to support the temple and show their love for your music.

      <description>&lt;div&gt;Thrift Town in Carmichael on Fair oaks next to California Family Fitness is putting out Halloween costumes and crazy clothing just for Burners.
&lt;br/&gt;We have one rack going out today with a mustard costume black tutu capes Santa hats bunny ears  ext.   I told them you all will love this so  get out there and check out the burners rack at Thrift town,  they  are also  putting out  crazy hats for all of you too.  Some items will not be at the burners rack (they refer to it as the  "Seasonal section" ) I asked they to put out more fuzzy coats too,  so come and check it out cause I begged for weeks to have them do this for everyone.&lt;/div&gt;

      <description>&lt;div&gt;So, I have a big old box of new, still in their wrappers massage toys, vibrators, lubes, shower gels, body sprays and various and sundry other goodies for play-time. Nothing very kinky or unusual, easily a few hundred dollars worth of stuff. I don't want it and I can't post it on Freecycle due to it's adult nature. I don't really think that the folks at Goodwill or the Salvation Army (ha!) would be too pleased with it as a donation either.

We will have an outdoor party from 8pm to 2am and a late night indoor show from 2am to 6am.  We are looking for house, electro, breaks, and other dj talent that would be interested in spinning a few sets at the party.   We can provide hotel for one night and a fee.

&lt;br/&gt;Nowhere is a 5 day event in Northern Spain, based upon the principles of Burning Man in Nevada, it is an experiment in participatory creation where everyone holds a piece of the puzzle.

&lt;br/&gt;We truly are a Leave No Trace event. You must bring everything you need to survive in a harsh desert environment. There is no commerce at Nowhere. No money. No shopping. If You need something, You make it happen.. And everything you bring you are responsible for taking away.

&lt;br/&gt;Temple of Poi currently has slots available in the beginner class
&lt;br/&gt;starting Tuesday, May 27 at 6:30 PM. The class series runs for 6 weeks and meets for 80 minutes each session at our SOMA locations in San Francisco. Tuition is $180 for all six 80 minute sessions (Please note payment plans are available if necessary – contact us for details).

      <description>&lt;div&gt;Please join burners, press and public for the Black Rock Arts Foundation ribbon-cutting ceremony for Peter Hudson's Homouroboros installation! This will be the official kick-off for the Zero1 festival, and the beginning of an entire month of monkey business in downtown San Jose.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The dedication will take place at 6pm on Saturday, May 17th at the Children's Discovery Museum - Discovery Meadow.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Once the ribbon is cut by Melissa Alexander, Executive Director of BRAF, and Peter Hudson, the artist and creator of Homouroboros, the drums will start to pound and the zeotrope will start to spin. Get ready for what Wired Magazine called the winner of the "WOW, did you see that?" survey at Burning Man 2007.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Reception follows the ceremony, and the end of civil twilight is at 8:39pm. Be sure to see this incredible zeotrope at its best ... in full dark ... to appreciate the effects under the strobe lights of what scientists call "the persistence of vision". And don't forget, this piece will be in Discovery Meadow from May 15th - June 15th, 2008.

It appears that our contribution is essential for tribe's continued operation. By now this program has proved to be very successful. If you remember there was a time just when this started when tribe was down feeding us with "donuts" for hours almost every day. Now those days seem to be gone.

&lt;br/&gt;About our Curators:
&lt;br/&gt;G. Cole Allee received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2007. Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, LA and Tokyo. She is a photo-based artist exploring landscape as cultural iconography, and sometimes, vice versa.  She has lived in San Francisco for a decade, teaching photography to youth at risk in Bayview Hunter's Point and recently with the Sixth Street Photography Workshop. While at SFAI she co-curated the Swell Gallery, the graduate venue. She is currently one of the Visual Arts curators for the Climate Theater
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Jen Cohen is a video, performance artist who attempts to break the narrative, cinematic genre through the creation of abstract video motifs projected onto non-traditional surfaces.  She has exhibited her work through out the Bay Area including venues such as the de Young Museum, Recombinant Media Lab, CNMAT, SomArts, 21 Grand, Roxie Cinema, The Lab, The Fine Arts Cinema and Artists Television Access (ATA).  She received a B.F.A in Media Arts from California College of the Arts.  Last October she started the 4d Dream-a-thon experimental film series at The Climate Theater and continues to co-curate the series
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Kaliisa Conlon is a film and video artist based in San Francisco. After performing with her mystic rock band Pizza Party in the Pacific NW, she received her BFA in Film and Video at California College of the Arts in 2007. Kaliisa now co-curates the experimental film series at the Climate Theater in San Francisco and concocts her witchy art and psychic films from her bedroom in the Mission.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Victoria Mara Heilweil is a photographic artist, educator and curator.  She received her MFA in Photography from California College of the Arts in 1995.  Her work has been exhibited nationally in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Victoria was the curator and co-owner of a cooperative art gallery in the East Village in NYC. Currently, she is one of the Visual Arts curators for the Climate Theater and runs "Show and Tell" a monthly slide slam and pot luck. http://www.victoriaheilweil.com

&lt;br/&gt;Brendan Leonard uses a variety of media to explore the language and role of conceptual art in the 21st century. He received his BFA in Media Arts from California College of the Arts in 2008, and lives in Oakland, CA. Brendan is currently co-curating a film/video series at the Climate Theater in San Francisco. &lt;br/&gt;Liena Vayzman is a photographer, video artist, and curator based in San Francisco. She earned her PhD in Art History at Yale, went to art school in France, and is part of the GIA: Gender Intelligence Agency. Her interests include interdisciplinary collaboration and radical queer visual culture.       <description>&lt;div&gt;This sounds terrific!!!!! I m just about to post what we ar lookng for ;-) I will past it here! Allie and I would love to see the place if you are open ;-)

&lt;br/&gt;The room will be for 2. I will be traveling internationally about 50%. My business partner (not GF so no drama there) will be running operations while I am away. She may travel about 20% on the domestic side for now, then once she has her passport she will be traveling allot with me or to elsewhere. I mention this since while we are on international travel and may not be reachable due to time differences, we don't want to come back and find we were all evicted or ripped off.  
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So a constant party pad, heavy drug dealing, ghetto vibe is defiantly not going to work for us ;-) (I mention this as it has happened more than once with other roommates)
&lt;br/&gt;We are looking for a clean and stable place. Preferably community living style where we live in peace, cook together (Vegetarian, Vegan, Pescitarian) , play together, create together. 
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The place needs to be stable, bills paid on time, very limited chance of eviction, happy an peaceful fun loving creative vibe. Artistic and introverted OK, but not depressed hating life emotionally draining :-( hehe
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;We will be needing this place for about 6months I estimate. While I finish the acquisition of the SF 7UP bottling Plant where I will be creating lofts, recording studio, artist incubator, clothing design company, and an event area space for 4000+ permitted and secured for the rest of the other operations. If we all play nice and get along, a loft may be available for you. It's all about the symbiotic relationships here!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I will be merging/partnering operations with a major clothing company in SF. With a client base such as Adidas, Thrasher, Independent, rocawear, Delia's, Macy's Nordstrom, Exact Science, "THE BAY" etc and many more. I mention this because if you are an artist, We are starting a Record label, Clothing Line, Movie and Event Production company with very powerful industries ties! So this is a once in a lifetime networking opportunity!

      <description>&lt;div&gt;MOBILE ART PROJECT NEEDS ACTORS
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;With the exception of art cars, nearly all other art at Burning Man is statically located in one place. Hence, I am looking for actors to join in this great MOBILE ART PROJECT.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;The DREAM VENDORS (working title) will be a guerrilla theater group with the mission of COMMITTING RANDOM ACTS OF THEATER AGAINST UNSUSPECTING DENIZENS OF BLACK ROCK CITY. There will be no stage, and there will be no mercy. We will have political, comical, whimsical, dramatical, sophical sketch comedy and/or improv that will occur whenever and wherever we damn feel like it.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This is, of course, a logistical nightmare of the first order. Therefore! Any actor committed to this project (or committed to another asylum) must also agree to camp together with the other Dream Vendors (camp location unknown at this time). The purpose for this is two-fold: First, cat-herding on playa time is a fucking come down and I am not willing to subject myself or any other sentient being to this task. (On the other hand, if you would like to do this and you are NOT a sentient being...) Second, it will give us an opportunity to rehearse, to improv, to break bread together, to drink and to generally stew into a cohesive troupe.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Who's in? What day do you plan to arrive on the Playa?
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Please contact me ASAP. I will only do this if we reach critical mass, which I figure is about 2 dozen actors. Less than that and we're not likely to make this happen. If we don't reach critical mass, let's say 24 actors by May 24th, then I'll scratch the project.

      <title>Homouroboros Dedication Ceremony May 17th!!!</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;Please join burners, press and public for the Black Rock Arts Foundation ribbon-cutting ceremony for Peter Hudson's Homouroboros installation!  This will be the official kick-off for the Zero1 festival, and the beginning of an entire month of monkey business in downtown San Jose.
&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;br/&gt;The dedication will take place at 6pm on Saturday, May 17th at the Children's Discovery Museum - Discovery Meadow (directions here: http://tinyurl.com/6bbop3).  Once the ribbon is cut by Melissa Alexander, Executive Director of BRAF, and Peter Hudson, the artist and creator of Homouroboros, the drums will start to pound and the zeotrope will start to spin.  Get ready for what Wired Magazine called the winner of the "WOW, did you see that?" survey at Burning Man 2007.
&lt;br/&gt; 
&lt;br/&gt;Reception follows the ceremony, and the end of civil twilight is at 8:39pm.  Be sure to see this incredible zeotrope at its best ... in full dark ... to appreciate the effects under the strobe lights of what scientists call "the persistence of vision".  And don't forget, this piece will be in Discovery Meadow from May 15th - June 15th.  Come by during the day, too (we'll have special daytime viewers available).  Bring friends, family, kids, neighbors and co-workers!  It's free to the public and a perfect fulfillment of BRAF's mission to place experimental, highly interactive art in public settings.&lt;/div&gt;

I'm looking for a place that has craftsman style, hardwood floors, w/d on premises, parking and loads of windows with easy access to the BART, walking/biking distance to coffee shops and has neighborhood charm.  Anyone out there know of any place available?

&lt;br/&gt;Intergalactic miles, 4 passenger, no

&lt;br/&gt;owner. Still have the original owners
&lt;br/&gt;manual. Does have a wobble issue at Mach
&lt;br/&gt;12 but clears once it hits 15 not sure
&lt;br/&gt;what that is but I lose the GPS screen
&lt;br/&gt;for about a minute or so. Complete with
&lt;br/&gt;bubble glass windows! Never crashed! For
&lt;br/&gt;sale $3500 OBO. Clear title in hand,
&lt;br/&gt;cash sale only, no trades and I won't
&lt;br/&gt;take payments. Once it leaves the earth,
&lt;br/&gt;I know you are not coming back so why
&lt;br/&gt;would I??? DUH! It needs some TLC like
&lt;br/&gt;an alignment and new landing sensors.

&lt;br/&gt;WORKSHOP 1: "Introduction to the Hoop Path":
&lt;br/&gt;WHEN/WHERE: Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13th. From 1-4pm both days at The Santa Cruz Dance Company, 2800 Porter Street, Soquel, CA 95073
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;This two-part workshop will introduce you to the physical challenge and meditative bliss of hoopdance: the energetic flow art of dancing with the sacred circle, the hoop. Hooping can be an exercise, a dance, a meditation. On the Hoop Path, we approach our hoop Practice with shared intentions not only to improve our hooping skill, but also to develop the skills to go Within, as we believe that Inner and Outer strength are inextricably and intimately intertwined. The introductory workshop will be divided into two sections, both taught by master teacher and Hoop Path founder Jonathan Baxter. Together we will focus on building core hooping skills, introducing students to Hoop Path terms such as pe*A*ce, Ritmo, One Tree/Two Tree Hooping, and Two Birds. Depending on where we find our rhythm as a group, we may well get into some of the more physically challenging techniques like Reversing, Breaking, Paddling, Lifts, and Angle Hooping .

&lt;br/&gt;This workshop is designed for seasoned hoopers who seek to deepen their personal Hoop Practice. We will move into some of the more complex aspects of Hooping, which will definitely include challenges to the Body, but also to the Mind and Spirit. Off-body techniques that require additional concentration, such as Rolling, Point, and Samurai, will be explored, as well as core exercises designed to help you discover reservoirs of Strength you might as yet be unaware of.

&lt;br/&gt;Jonathan Baxter picked up a hoop for the first time six years ago, thinking it would help him rehabilitate some injured shoulder muscles.  He never dreamed it would develop into a daily meditation that totally transformed him, inside and out.  Over the years he has logged in thousands and thousands of hooping hours--what we on the HoopPath call "flight time."  Baxter's commitment to his Practice has revealed to him many of the profound subtleties to be found this ecstatic movement. This extensive and direct involvement with "hoopgnosis," coupled with Baxter's unique gifts as a storyteller and guide, make him an extraordinary teacher.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Baxter's longtime student and partner, Ann Humphreys, demonstrates and assists in HoopPath workshops. Ann attended her first HoopPath class in the summer of '05 and became a committed hooper a year later. An insatiable and eager student, she rapidly absorbed the HoopPath teachings and quickly developed her own distinctive hoopstyle.  She brings eight years of yoga experience, as well as high energy and an infectious enthusiasm, to HoopPath classes.

&lt;br/&gt;Tickets to The Dark Skies Arts Festival, June 19-22 at Mojave Drums near Meadview, Arizona are going on sale this Saturday 4/12/08 at twelve noon PST under the following price structure:
&lt;br/&gt;FIRST TIER: 75 tickets @ $75
&lt;br/&gt;SECOND TIER: 150 tickets @ $95
&lt;br/&gt;THIRD TIER: The remaining 75 tickets will be $125

&lt;br/&gt;Dark Skies is the southern Nevada regional burn, now to be held across the dam in Arizona! All of Burning Man’s 10 principals apply including leave no trace, no vending and the gift economy.

&lt;br/&gt;THEME CAMPS
&lt;br/&gt;We are requesting that all theme camps register and determine the minimum required amount of space that you can fit into. We are also asking most participants to drop their camping gear and park out by the front gate in order to keep the event site open and allow art cars, pedestrian traffic, and bicycles to traverse the site safely. There’s plenty of room on this site for our event, we just have to use it judiciously and creatively. Please please please register your theme camp and art so we know who’s coming!
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;FIRE
&lt;br/&gt;Dark Skies 2008 is operating in a high fire season, and in an area of pristine high desert in a beautiful Joshua Tree Forest. Dark Skies Fire Safety will be operating under the jurisdiction of Meadview Arizona Fire Dept. All final decisions regarding fire will be up to them.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;•	Fire performers will be allowed i/e: poi staffs breathers and all other hand held fire performance toys.
&lt;br/&gt;•	Small propane flame effects; ie hand held puffers and small lpg flame effects with neither having a vertical flame length exceeding 10ft unless pre approved will be allowed. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	Fire barrels; fire barrels will be provided and maintained by event staff and will be in community areas. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	No personal burn barrels and fireplaces unless pre-approved in advance of the event. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	All generators used will be required to have an abc fire extinguisher and a pointed shovel within 20 ft at all times. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	Tentative fire times will be between 7pm and sunrise. Fire times will be subject to blackout in case of winds sustained in excess of 12 mph. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	All fire artists and participants must check in with DSFS. DSFS has the final say when it comes to fire of any kind. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	Smoking is to be conducted on developed and groomed areas only, no smoking is allowed in the vegetated areas of the event site. Leave no trace; never let it hit the ground. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	Fireworks of any kind are illegal and banned 100% at this event. 
&lt;br/&gt;•	All fire activities will be restricted to fire performance areas and then only at pre approved times. We will clearly mark these areas on site.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;Important fire information; All fire activities may be banned in the case of a regional “red flag alert”. A red flag alert occurs when high winds regionally create a situation whereby all fire activities are banned. This is not the same as the high fire season ban which runs April 15 – Nov 15 and for which we are applying for variances too for this event. This is also NOT the same situation we had last time where CCFD “stuck it to us” at the last minute and bummed a lot of people out. Our hosts want to see fire at this event. But we have to play by their rules. Lets hope for low winds on the weekend of the event!

      <title>Burner-friendly truck rental in the Bay Area</title>

      <description>&lt;div&gt;My camp is looking to rent a box truck to take all of our crap to the playa this year.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;I've heard horror stories from some truck rental companies.  Canceling reservations when you show up to pick up the truck, charging thousands of dollars in "damages" when they find out you went to BM, even sending tow trucks to the event to tow trucks with their logo on them.
&lt;br/&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;So where is a safe, reliable, friendly place to rent a truck?

&lt;br/&gt;&gt; China, Tibetans are crying out to the world for
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; change.
&lt;br/&gt;&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; The Chinese government has said that the
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; protesters who have not yet surrendered "
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; will be punished". Its leaders are right
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; now considering a crucial choice between
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; escalating brutality or dialogue that could
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; determine the future of Tibet, and China.
&lt;br/&gt;&gt;
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; We can affect this historic choice--China does
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; care about its international reputation. China’s
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; President Hu Jintao needs to hear that the ’Made
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; in China’ brand and the upcoming Olympics in
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; Beijing can succeed only if he makes the right
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; choice. But it will take an avalanche of global
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; people power to get his attention--and we need
&lt;br/&gt;&gt; it in the next 48 hours.
